The World Summit on Sustainable Development was held in South Africa in September 2002 to discuss priorities for future international, national and regional policies to promote sustainable development consistent with economic growth, environmental protection and social justice. The Select Committee sent a delegation of three MPs to observe the UK's role in the proceedings and to participate in associated events.
